Rehabilitation Through Computers

Comprehensive Rehabilitation of unemployed disabled youth by providing Vocational Training in Computers and other related services. Computer training for physically disabled persons, persons in wheelchairs, in an accessible place with modified keyboard accessibility. Computer training for Blind persons using JAWS software. A voice software which enables the blind person to hear the typed text and other commands and respond accordingly. Computer training for deaf persons, with more of written communication and also sign language. Computer training for intellectually disabled persons, where it is more of keeping them engaged with useful activity.

Jobs for Persons with Disabilities

Over the years more than 600 disabled persons have found employment in various private and Government offices, after their computer training at Agape. From small office computer jobs to being Government Gazetted officers our disabled students have done well.

Wheelchairs & Tricycles

Every year we have been distributing about 15 to 20 wheelchairs/tricycles to persons in need. We were able to distribute about 100 modified and designed to fit wheelchairs working alongside with Equip India in 2006. Also 10 modified scootys were given in association with ECI Chennai.

Counselling

Many disabled persons are greatly benefitted by the counselling that is given. Whether it is a little encouragement, acceptance of disability, career counselling or referral services, they are given individual attention and guided accordingly. We also have free counselling services by a Volunteer professional Counsellor, who is referred to whenever needed.
